The next May Convocation at the Royal Military College of Canada will be held on Thursday, 19 May 2016 and will commence at 1300 hrs in the Kingston Military Community Sports Center (KMCSC) Anderson Field House.
Dress for the Ceremony
The dress for all ROTP and RETP Officer Cadets is Scarlets - 1M summer.
Other military graduands the appropriate dress is their respective 1A uniforms with medals and no gloves.
Civilian graduands are advised to wear semi formal attire (business suit or equivalent).
All graduands will be issued a graduation hood. Civilian graduands will also wear a black academic gown over their clothes during the ceremony.
Graduation Hoods and Gowns
ROTP, RETP and UTPNCM graduands will sign out their respective Graduation hoods at 1230 hrs 18 May 2016 prior to the Convocation Rehearsal at the KMCSC and must return the Graduation hoods to RMCC Supply during clearing out procedures.
Graduands from Graduate Studies and Continuing Studies may sign out their respective hoods and gowns at the assembly area of the SAM Gym in the KMCSC from 1000 - 1215 hrs on the day of Convocation and are to be returned immediately following the Convocation Ceremony and no later 1700 hrs. For those planning on attending the Convocation Rehearsal, you may also sign out your hoods and gowns at 1230 hrs on the day of the Convocation Rehearsal.
Convocation rehearsal will take place on 18 May 2015 at 1330 hrs. All participants are requested to be present at the assembly point (SAM gym, KMCSC) by 1230 hrs.
Assembly Area for Academic Procession
On the day of Convocation, all RMCC Faculty members and graduands attending Convocation are asked to arrive at the assembly area in the KMCSC by 1200 hrs. Directional signs will guide you to the appropriate assembly area.
Graduate and Distance Studies Reception
A reception for Graduate and Distance Studies graduands will take place immediately after the Convocation, from approximately 1600 to 1830hrs, in the lounge of HMCS Cataraqui. HMCS Cataraqui is conveniently located adjacent to and behind the Kingston Military Family Sports Center, where the Convocation will be held. Finger foods will be served, and a cash bar will be available.
Guests for the Convocation Ceremony
Guests of all graduands are welcome to witness the Convocation ceremony and should be seated by 1245 hours in the KMCSC at 11 Duty Drive. There is no limit as to the number of guests that may invited and no tickets are necessary. Seating is on a first come first served basis and is fully accessible.
